The Oaks at Weatherby Ribbon Cutting
December 14th, 2010
The Oaks at Weatherby formally opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 23rd in Woolwich Township, New Jersey. BartonPartners was proud to team with Community Investment Strategies Inc (CIS) to design the township’s first affordable rental housing development.
The Oaks features 86 one-, two- and three-bedroom townhomes that range from 850 to 1,140 square feet. It meets the rules of the state’s Council of Affordable Housing, or COAH, by providing quality houses for low-income families.
One of the design features that sets the Oaks apart from other affordable housing developments are the direct-entry front doors, instead of apartment-style corridors. Making each apartment feel like someone’s home. During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Mayor Joe Chila expressed his excitement about the opportunity to provide high-quality affordable housing to those who need it most.
