Interior Design Team Promotions and Expansion

January 6th, 2015

During the past few years, BartonPartners has invested in the development of their Interior Design team, further enhancing their coveted integrated design approach. Clients looking to have all their development needs met in one place are now able to more efficiently reach their project goals by hiring one Firm to complete not only their Planning, Architecture, and Landscape Design, but their Interior Design as well. BartonPartners currently employs a team of eight Interior Designers, each with unique experience, specialties, degrees and qualifications, and are looking to expand further in 2015.

Erica Harmelin, NCIDQ – Director of Interior Design – Helping to lead the growth of the team is Erica Harmelin, a seasoned Philadelphia design professional who has recently been promoted to Director of Interior Design. Erica joined BartonPartners as a Project Manager with a strong background in Hotel, Condominium and Commercial Design. She strived to differentiate not only the team, but the level of sophistication and expanse of the WebStory_3Interiors work on a variety of projects. Many of the team’s projects are multi-family based yet contain a spectrum of hospitality, commercial and residential design opportunities. From meeting the needs of the changing demographics in market-rate residences, to creating exciting, high-end hospitality amenity offerings, to integrating the cutting edge office concepts into leasing centers; the Interiors team has been able to expand their experience level in multi-faceted markets giving them the opportunity to diversify their portfolio.

“I am so proud of our exceptionally creative and dynamic Interior Design group, in addition to the quality of work we have been doing” said Erica Harmelin. “Usually as Designers we have to push Clients to think outside of the box, but with our current Clients, they are urging us to do so, and we are rising to the challenge; it is a very exciting time for us.”

Michelle Del Valle – Project Manager – Another integral member contributing to the development of the Interior Design team is Michelle Del Valle, a Senior Interior Designer at Barton Partners who was recently promoted to Project Manager helping to lead the influx of Interiors projects coming into the Firm.  Since joining BartonPartners in 2012, Michelle has been an essential part of the Interior Design team’s growth through her exceptionally strong design sense and remarkable ability to understand Clients’ specific needs.

“I think the diversity of our projects and the various markets they are designed for is what allows our team’s creativity to flourish,” said Michelle Del Valle. “Each project brings a fresh opportunity to create not just space – but place – and I’m thrilled to be a part of that.”WebStory_2

Many of the Interiors projects, spanning the Northeast Corridor, are just reaching completion or are currently under construction, while a majority are still on the boards. More notable projects include the recently opened mixed-use South Kensington property, Oxford Mills. Once operating as a dye works factory, the historic project offers loft style living for culturally-minded residents and boasts 114 residential units along with 36,000 square feet of office and retail space and shared amenity areas. AnotherWebStory highly anticipated project is Parc, a luxury resort-style rental community located just outside of Philadelphia in Plymouth Meeting. Slated to open in late November, Parc exemplifies BartonPartners seamless integrated approach, with all of the disciplines in the office being involved, each bringing their own unique perspective. In addition to 380 apartments, the project includes and a 10,000 square foot clubhouse with luxury amenities such as steam and massage rooms, expansive fitness/yoga rooms, a pet salon, and a resort style pool area.
