Waterscape on Hewitts Cove: Hingham
Hingham, MA
Hingham Shipyard was at one time a bustling steel shipyard. Built in 1942 to support the war effort, the shipyard produced 277 ships and employed 30,000 people before it closed in 1986. Now Hingham Shipyard is home to a new development, Waterscape on Hewitts Cove; the history of the place and its community will however, remain a part of its cachet, as will its stunning views of Boston across the harbor. BartonPartners emulated historical Hingham in its designs. 94 three-story traditional townhouses, varying in size from 2,500 sf to 2,700sf flank the Weymouth River. Interspersed with green spaces throughout the rest of the property are 56 two-floor courtyard townhouses that range from 2,400 sf to 2,700 sf. Luxurious touches provide the entire community with modern day conveniences such as elevator-served units, two car garages, and a 6,000 sf clubhouse with an outdoor pool and recreational area.
