The Meadows at Frederick Living Groundbreaking
July 22nd, 2015
BartonPartners’ Principal, Tom Barton and Architectural Designer, Rebecca Christmas attended the groundbreaking celebration. The Meadows at Frederick Living will be an innovative design based on the pocket-neighborhood concept that was first created in the Pacific Northwest. A pocket neighborhood is a grouping of smaller residences, often facing a courtyard or common garden, designed to promote a close-knit sense of community and neighborliness with an increased level of social interaction. Architecturally, the focus is on color and texture, emphasizing the porches, green spaces and walking paths with reduced emphasis on cars and garages. These 55 independent living cottages will feature geo-thermal heating and cooling, and spacious, open floor plans at 1200-1600 square feet. The homes are constructed as pre-engineered wall panels erected and assembled on site. The Meadows will have completed the first 20 homes by May 2016.
